Suture, 3/0, 27", PDS™ Plus, Clear Monofilament, FS-1 is an absorbable, synthetic monofilament suture composed of polydioxanone and coated with an antibacterial agent, triclosan. It is designed to provide extended wound support while helping to reduce the risk of surgical site infections caused by common pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, and MRSE.

The monofilament structure minimizes tissue drag and reduces the risk of harboring bacteria within the suture material. Its smooth surface ensures easy passage through tissue and promotes minimal tissue reactivity. The suture exhibits prolonged tensile strength retention, maintaining approximately 70% at two weeks, 50% at four weeks, and 25% at six weeks post-implantation.

The attached FS-1 needle is a 3/8 circle taper point, ideal for soft tissue closure and subcuticular techniques. The clear, undyed monofilament offers less visibility postoperatively, which can be advantageous in cosmetic or pediatric procedures. The 3/0 suture size is well-suited for fine tissue approximation and secure wound management in delicate surgical areas.
